2026 Livestock Rule Changes

2026 Livestock Rule Changes

APPLICATION OF RULES: The General Rules and Regulations apply to every division in the fair. There are also rules specifically for divisions. Exhibitors are responsible for reading, learning, and following all the rules that apply to the division entered. Failure to adhere to the rules and regulations will result in disqualification from the show. All changes and reminders will be highlighted in yellow.

    • Animals held in designated sample collection areas for drug testing may be watered, drenched, and fed at the exhibitor’s discretion. Only the exhibitor, their parent or legal guardian, or an FFA or 4-H Leader is permitted to perform these actions. It is the sole responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure the animal remains within the allowable weigh-back range.

    • To ensure the safety of all individuals present, including exhibitors, volunteers, and arena personnel, the superintendent retains the authority to order the immediate securing and removal of any animal from the arena if it is deemed to be out of the exhibitor’s control. This action may be taken at any time to prevent potential injury. Any animal removed under these circumstances may be subject to disqualification.

    • No drenching, watering/feeding, or grooming (cleaning or wiping of feces/debris by the exhibitor is not considered grooming) is allowed while in the “holding area” at any time.
