                                            WILD GAME FUNDRAISER
SET FOR FEBRUARY 15

The Starr County Fair Association invites the public to attend its annual scholarship fundraiser for the
Starr County Fair scholarship recipients of 2014.  The annual Wild Game Dinner is set for Saturday,
February 15.  Doors open at 6:00 at the James Peterson Memorial Building at the Starr County
Fairgrounds, and serving begins at 6:30 p.m.
Advance tickets for $15 per person are available at Citizens State Bank from Chairman Celinda
Salinas in Rio, at Rio Motor Co. from Co-Chairman Billy Canales, at the Starr County Teachers
Federal Credit Union, and from members of the Fair Association.  Admission will be $20 per person at
the door.
A silent auction and live auction will be held to raise funds for youth scholarships.
The variety of food will be even better than ever.   HEB will be serving their popular shrimp and catfish
from their expanded Seafood Market. There will be 16 Booths with a great variety of wild game to
choose from prepared in various ways.  All food and drink sponsors are generous donors of their
talents and resources for the sake of the scholarship recipients.
A treat is in store after the dinner and auctions, as Serjio and Ropin’ the Wind will provide music for
dancing.
Individuals and businesses may make donations of items for the auctions.  These may be brought to
Rio Motor Company and Citizens State Bank in Rio for this event that benefits Starr County youth from
all three high schools.  The event will officially kick off the 49th annual fair.  Honored guests will be
2014 Starr County Fair Parade Marshals, Gustavo and Maria Elena Olivarez, and Volunteers of the
Year, Xavier & Lori Perez.
